Role & responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to liver transplant patients throughout the treatment journey.
- Monitor patients closely before and after liver transplant procedures.
- Assess and record vital signs, neurological status, fluid balance, and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients for signs of infection, bleeding, rejection, graft dysfunction, and other post-transplant complications.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation, medication records, and patient care plans.
- Assist doctors during procedures, examinations, and emergency interventions.
- Maintain strict infection prevention and control practices, particularly for immunocompromised patients.
- Monitor laboratory investigations and promptly report abnormal findings to the treating team.
- Ensure safe handling and administration of high-alert and immunosuppressive medications as per protocol.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medication compliance, infection prevention, diet, follow-up, and post-transplant care.




- Coordinate effectively with surgeons, physicians, intensivists, dieticians, physiotherapists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure proper handover and continuity of patient care during shift changes.
- Respond promptly to clinical emergencies and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, NABH requirements, and patient safety protocols.
