The Senior Manager Payroll will lead the end-to-end delivery of payroll operations for India JSW Group Entities. The incumbent will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while driving standardization, automation, governance, process excellence, and superior employee experience across multiple business entities.
This is a strategic managerial role responsible for leading payroll operations, statutory compliance, stakeholder management, vendor governance, continuous improvement initiatives, and building a high-performing payroll team.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
- Lead end-to-end payroll processing for multiple legal entities across India.
- Ensure 100% accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Manage monthly payroll calendars and payroll governance.
- Review payroll inputs including new joiners, exits, promotions, transfers, incentives, bonuses, arrears, reimbursements, and recoveries.
- Ensure payroll accuracy through maker-checker controls.
- Drive payroll standardization across businesses.
Statutory Compliance
Ensure complete compliance with:
- Income Tax (TDS)
- Provident Fund (EPF)
- Employee State Insurance (ESIC)
- Qualified Tax
- Labour Welfare Fund
- Labour Laws
- Gratuity
- Bonus
- Leave Encashment
- Full & Final Settlement
- Payroll accounting requirements
Shared Services Delivery
- Lead payroll delivery through SLA/KPI-based service management.
- Establish governance mechanisms.
- Monitor service quality.
- Drive first-time-right payroll processing.
- Manage payroll escalations.
- Improve employee experience.
Payroll Systems
Lead payroll operations using:
- SAP
- Darwin Box
- Payroll interfaces
Drive payroll automation and digitization initiatives.
Process Excellence
Drive continuous improvement through:
- Lean Six Sigma

Provide timely payroll MIS and management reports.

- MBA (HR/Finance) or Master's Degree
- B.Com / M.Com
- Qualified CA
- Additional qualification in Payroll, Taxation, Labour Laws, or Finance will be an advantage.
Experience
- 10-12 years of Payroll experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in Captive Shared Services / Shared Service Centre is mandatory.
- Experience handling large employee populations across multiple entities.
