2. Patient Interaction & Care:
Greet patients with professionalism, ensuring a comfortable and reassuring experience.
o Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
o Explain procedures clearly and address any concerns the patient may have.
3. Sample Collection & Handling:
Collect blood samples using aseptic techniques, ensuring minimal discomfort to the patient.
o Verify patient details and match samples accurately to avoid any errors.
o Follow proper labeling protocols by tagging barcodes with the Unique Health Identification Number (UHID).
o Maintain the integrity of samples, ensuring cold chain storage at 2-8C (if applicable).
o Transport and hand over samples to the designated department within the required timeframe.
4. Patient Preparation & Test Instructions:
o Obtain relevant clinical history and record it accurately in the online test requisition form.
o Provide necessary pre-test instructions to patients (e.g., 10-12 hour fasting for lipid profile, urine sample collection guidelines, or special conditions for hormone tests).
o Educate patients about specific test requirements
5. Compliance & Safety Standards:
o Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain hygiene in sample collection areas.
o Dispose of biohazardous waste appropriately as per safety guidelines.
o Report any adverse events, such as patient reactions or sample collection issues, immediately.
