Role & responsibilities

- Conduct daily safety inspections of shipyard areas, workshops, dry docks, berths, vessels, and construction zones.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements, statutory regulations, and applicable shipyard safety standards.
- Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Method Statement reviews for shipyard activities.
- Ensure proper implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities.
- Monitor hot work activities, including welding, gas cutting, grinding, and other spark-producing operations.
- Ensure proper controls for fire prevention and fire protection, including availability of fire extinguishers,



fire watch, and emergency arrangements.
- Monitor confined space entry in tanks, compartments, ballast tanks, pipelines, and other restricted areas.
- Ensure proper implementation of confined-space procedures, including gas testing, ventilation, standby personnel, communication, and rescue arrangements.
- Monitor work at height activities and ensure protected use of scaffolds, ladders, platforms, lifelines, and fall-arrest systems.
- Inspect scaffolding, access platforms, temporary structures, and lifting arrangements before use.
