About the Role

Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) is looking for an experienced and highly driven General Manager – Projects to lead the planning, execution and delivery of the University’s infrastructure and development projects.

The General Manager – Projects will have complete end-to-end responsibility for project delivery, covering planning, design coordination, budgeting, tendering, construction, cost and quality control, commissioning, handover and project closure.

The position will lead the internal Projects Team and manage PMCs, architects, consultants, contractors and vendors. We are looking for a hands-on project leader who can take ownership, drive execution and ensure delivery within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Take complete ownership of infrastructure, construction, renovation and development projects from concept to final handover.
- Prepare project master plans, execution schedules, budgets, milestones and monitoring mechanisms.
- Drive projects to ensure on-time, within-budget and quality-compliant delivery.
- Lead and manage the internal Projects Team, including project managers, engineers and other project personnel.
- Manage and coordinate with architects, PMCs, structural/MEP consultants, contractors and vendors.
- Review drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, project estimates, tender documents and commercial proposals.
- Monitor construction activities and physical and financial progress across project sites.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks, cost overruns and project risks in advance and initiate corrective actions.
- Conduct regular project and site review meetings and ensure timely closure of action points.
- Ensure effective coordination between civil, structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire & safety,



IT and other building systems.
- Monitor contractor performance, manpower deployment, material availability and execution schedules.
- Review contractor/consultant bills, variations, additional works and project expenditure.
- Drive value engineering and cost optimisation without compromising functionality, quality or safety.
- Establish and enforce strong quality assurance, quality control and site safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, building regulations, fire and safety requirements and other applicable standards.
- Maintain management dashboards covering project progress, costs, procurement, risks, dependencies and decisions required.
- Lead testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification and final handover of completed facilities.
- Ensure availability of as-built drawings, O&M; manuals, warranties and other project closure documentation.
- Monitor contractor obligations during the Defect Liability Period (DLP).

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a senior project professional who combines robust technical knowledge with leadership, commercial understanding and execution capability.

The candidate should have:

- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Preferably 15+ years of experience in construction, infrastructure and project management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior project leadership position.
- Proven experience in independently handling medium-to-large construction/infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in end-to-end project management — design, tendering, contracting, execution,



cost control, commissioning and handover.
- Experience managing PMCs, architects, consultants, contractors, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of drawings, BOQs, specifications, contracts, billing and project costing.
- Good knowledge of civil construction, MEP coordination, quality management and site safety.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- High degree of ownership, integrity, accountability and professional discipline.

Preferred: M.E./M.Tech, MBA/PG qualification in Project/Construction Management, PMP or equivalent certification.

This is not merely a project monitoring role. The General Manager – Projects will be expected to take ownership of delivery, be actively involved at project sites, anticipate issues, resolve bottlenecks, drive contractors and consultants, lead the project team and ensure that committed outcomes are achieved.

The position is suitable for an experienced project leader who has successfully delivered large projects and is comfortable taking end-to-end accountability from planning to final handover.
