Post : Accounts Manager Freight Forwarding / Logistics

Location : Gurugram, Haryana

Experience : 8 years core accounting min 2 years in a freight forwarding, logistics industry

Qualification : Graduate

Salary : 10 LPA

Role

To oversee the complete Accounts and financial lifecycle of freight forwarding operations (Air/Sea, Import/Export). To ensure accurate vendor and carrier disbursements, exact client billing in multiple currencies (INR/USD), robust accounts receivable/payable management, and strict adherence to Indian tax laws (GST, TDS) and general financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Revenue Management

- Oversee the end-to-end Order-to-Invoice lifecycle for air freight, sea freight, and customs clearance.
- Ensure accurate generation of sales invoices in INR and foreign currencies (e.g., USD) along with online e-invoicing.
- Review job files to verify that freight charges, local cartage, handling fees, and carrier rates match agreed quotations.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and manage customer account reconciliations.

Accounts Receivable & Payable (AR/AP)

- Monitor aging reports and drive collections to maintain a healthy cash flow and minimize bad debts.
- Manage vendor payouts (shipping lines, airlines, Transporters, CHA, and warehouse operators)



after strict cross-verification.
- Perform timely Sundry Debtors and Creditors ledger reconciliations.

Taxation & Compliance

- Handle GST computations, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B filing, and GSTR-2A/2B reconciliations.
- Manage TDS provisions applicable to logistics vendors and contractors (Sections 194C, 194H, etc.) and prepare data for quarterly return filings.
- Handle Form 26AS / AIS reconciliations and assist with statutory or internal audits.

MIS & Financial Reporting

- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss (P&L;) statements, balance sheet support schedules, and cash flow forecasts.
- Generate operational MIS reports tracking job-wise profitability, route profitability, and outstanding dues.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in accounting software like Tally ERP/Prime, or specialized freight forwarding ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial dashboards).

Regulatory Knowledge

- Deep understanding of Indian GST laws, e-invoicing, and TDS rules pertinent to the logistics sector.
