Job Purpose
Responsible for planning and execution of engineering projects, CAPEX investments, utilities and equipment requirements to ensure manufacturing capacity readiness, operational efficiency, product quality and cost optimization within approved budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute CAPEX, capacity expansion and cost-reduction projects with detailed cost-benefit analysis.
- Prepare project investment estimates, technical specifications and equipment requirements.
- Develop factory layouts, equipment layouts and zonal plans for expansion projects.
- Study manufacturing processes and use Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to eliminate non-value-added activities.
- Prepare technical specifications, sizing and performance requirements for process machinery and utilities.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies for energy efficiency, utility optimization, manpower productivity and operating-cost reduction.
- Support sustainability, energy management and engineering digitalization initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate equipment manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and technology partners.
- Prepare and monitor detailed project schedules, ensuring timely execution within cost, quality and safety parameters.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, machine suppliers and internal stakeholders for project execution and issue resolution.
- Lead/coordinate installation,
commissioning and performance trials of utilities and process machinery.
- Troubleshoot equipment/process issues during commissioning and ensure achievement of defined performance protocols.
- Prepare and implement SOPs, commissioning protocols and project closure documentation.
- Conduct technical due diligence of existing manufacturing facilities and identify infrastructure, hygiene, utility and machinery improvement requirements.
- Ensure projects comply with Food Safety Guidelines, NBC, applicable State Bye-Laws and corporate EHS standards.
- Drive utility optimization, energy conservation, predictive improvement and engineering excellence initiatives.
Key Stakeholders
Internal: Engineering & Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, Finance and Factory Teams.
External: Process Machinery Suppliers, Equipment Manufacturers, Contractors and Service Vendors.
Candidate Profile
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering – Mandatory.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Utilities, Project Execution or CAPEX in FMCG/Food Manufacturing.
- Preferably experience in Snacks, Noodles or similar food manufacturing operations.
- Strong exposure to CAPEX projects, plant engineering, utilities, equipment installation and commissioning.
- Candidates with experience in energy management, sustainability, digitalization and utility optimization will be preferred.
- Valuable knowledge of project planning, vendor management, cost control and site execution.
- 60% & above marks throughout academics – Mandatory.
- Strong communication, coordination and project management skills.
