About The Job:

The IAM SME (Microsoft) will have overall technical design authority for the operational security model within the Microsoft suite of security products, delivering plans on understood and emerging threats, while developing strategies for leading the design of future security evolution using leading edge technology to meet the challenge of future threats.

Leadership: (~20%)

- Define and implement a global strategy for operational security within Entra ID and Active Directory.
- Establish a position as thought leader on emerging concepts to meet the risk of future threats within the Microsoft Security estate.
- Lead on project design discussions relating to the overall security of connected systems.
- Microsoft Security Strategy (~80%)

- Strategic Design: Conceptualise the future security needs of the Microsoft suite of products, delivering a pipeline of activities to ensure the technical delivery strategy adheres to the principles of Secure By Design throughout its evolution.
- Project Support:



Represent Identity & Access Management within project planning and design meetings as the technical point of contact for security planning within operational security.
- Entra/AD Role Design Architecture: Act as the technical lead on significant Application and Enterprise Role design for complex solutions.
- Reporting: provide management reporting and risk assessments on the current security controls within the production environment and give recommendations for improvement.
- Break-Glass Solution Oversight: Be accountable for any break-glass account use and report to management on use cases. Support the design teams in improving role design to minimise improper use of break-glass access capabilities.
- External Audit Support: Lead the audit response from the Identity & Access Management team on all external audits relating to IAM matters.
- Essential Job Functions:

- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with strong expertise in Microsoft Entra and Active Directory
- 5+ years of experience in a technical authority position, driving strategic direction
- Proven ability to manage security programs and influence cross-functional teams.

Certifications

- Skilled cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM
- Technical certifications in Microsoft technologies

Skills and Competencies





- Proven track record of work experience in a challenging commercial environment
- Good working knowledge of relevant functional systems
- Experience in dealing with and influencing multi-tier management
- Experience of developing best practice policies and procedures for functional area
