Position Summary

The candidate shall be responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring, and controlling all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities for heavy fabricated equipment, including Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns, Reactors, and Special Alloy Equipment, ensuring full compliance with applicable codes, standards, statutory requirements, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and govern all NDT activities including RT, UT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD, VT, and LT.
- Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures in accordance with applicable ASME, ISO, EN, and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with client, statutory, project, and quality requirements related to NDT activities.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Welding, Engineering, and Project teams for effective execution of inspection activities.
- Interface with clients, Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, authorized inspectors, and statutory authorities.
- Review NDT reports, inspection records, procedures, and related quality documentation.
- Ensure proper implementation of NDT requirements as per approved QAP/ITP, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Monitor NDT personnel, equipment, calibration, consumables, and inspection processes.




- Support resolution of quality issues and ensure timely NCR closure and corrective actions.
- Oversee preparation and compilation of Manufacturing Data Records (MDRs), quality dossiers, and inspection documentation.
- Participate in internal, customer, TPI, and statutory quality audits.
- Ensure traceability and proper documentation of all NDT activities throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Drive continuous improvement in NDT processes, inspection quality, and compliance.

Qualification & Experience

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- NDT Level III qualification in MT, PT, RT, and UT is mandatory.
- 1015 years of relevant experience in NDT/Quality in heavy fabrication and pressure equipment manufacturing.
- Strong hands-on experience in inspection of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns, Reactors, and other heavy fabricated equipment.
- Robust knowledge of ASME, ISO, EN codes and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience in handling clients, TPI agencies, authorized inspectors, audits, NCRs, MDRs and quality documentation.
- Good understanding of welding, fabrication, NDT procedures, and inspection requirements.
