Job Description

Presidency School Mangalore is looking for a passionate, experienced and qualified PGT English Teacher to join our academic team. The candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons for Senior Secondary students, supporting academic excellence, and contributing to the overall development of students.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for Grades 8th to 12th as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, worksheets, assignments and assessments.
- Teach English Core , including literature, language, reading, writing and communication skills.
- Prepare students effectively for CBSE Board examinations through structured academic planning and regular assessments.
- Evaluate students' academic performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify learning gaps and provide individual attention and remedial support.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, effective communication and analytical skills among students.
- Maintain accurate academic records, assessment reports and student progress documentation.
- Conduct classroom activities, discussions, presentations, debates and other language-enrichment activities.
- Mentor and guide students in academic and personal development.




- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and performance.
- Participate actively in school events, co-curricular activities, workshops and career development programmes.
- Collaborate with the English Department and other faculty members to improve teaching-learning practices.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined and student-friendly classroom workplace.

Candidate Profile

- Qualification: Master's Degree in English with B. Ed. from a recognised institution.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience as PGT English, preferably in a CBSE school.
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE Senior Secondary English curriculum .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong classroom management and student-engagement skills.
- Ability to use technology and digital teaching tools effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring and collaboration skills.
- Candidates with proven CBSE Board examination experience and strong academic results will be preferred.
