Position Overview
- We are looking for an experienced Citrix Engineer responsible for the implementation, administration, optimization, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operations of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
- The candidate will work across implementation projects, migrations, upgrades, L2/L3 operations, incident management, performance optimization, and customer support. The role requires robust hands-on expertise in Citrix technologies along with a good understanding of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, networking, virtualization, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Citrix Implementation & Deployment: Design, install, configure, and implement Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) / DAAS environments; configure Delivery Controllers, Store Front, Studio, Director, Licensing, and VDAs; deploy Citrix Gateway / Net Scaler ADC; configure Machine Catalogs, Delivery Groups, applications, desktops, and policies; integrate with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and authentication services.
- Citrix Migration & Upgrade: Perform Citrix version upgrades, migrations, and environment modernization; execute migrations with minimal downtime; migrate workloads between farms, sites, hypervisors, or infrastructure platforms; support migration to Citrix Cloud; perform health checks and post-migration validation.
- Operations & Administration: Manage production Citrix environments; monitor availability, capacity, and performance; troubleshoot login, application launch, session, VDA, profile, printing, and connectivity issues; manage policies, applications, desktops, sessions, and access permissions; perform preventive maintenance and 24x7 rotational support where required.
- Citrix ADC / Net Scaler: Configure and troubleshoot Gateway virtual servers,
authentication, certificates, SSL/TLS, session policies, and load balancing; perform firmware upgrades and configuration backup/restore.
- User Profile & Endpoint Technologies: Troubleshoot FSLogix, Citrix Profile Management, folder redirection, Windows multi-session/single-session environments, thin clients, endpoint connectivity, printers, scanners, USB redirection, and Citrix Workspace App.
- Virtualization & Infrastructure: Support Citrix environments hosted on VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Nutanix AHV; understand VM sizing, CPU, memory, storage, networking, and capacity planning.
- Incident, Problem & Change Management: Handle L2/L3 incidents and service requests; perform RCA; participate in problem management; implement changes following ITIL processes; support major incidents and customer escalations.
- Monitoring, Performance & Optimization: Use Citrix Director and monitoring platforms to analyze logon duration, VDA health, resource utilization, and application performance; identify bottlenecks and implement optimization/capacity improvements.
- Automation & Operational Improvement: Use Power Shell for administration, reporting, troubleshooting, and automation; automate health checks, reporting, user/session management, and repetitive operational tasks.
- Documentation & Customer Management: Maintain SOPs, KB articles, troubleshooting guides, health reports, and service reports; participate in customer meetings; provide technical recommendations; coordinate with OEM/vendor support; support audits and compliance.
Required Technical Skills:
- Must Have: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops / CVAD, Citrix Studio and Director, Delivery Controllers, Store Front, VDAs, Citrix Policies, Machine Catalogs and Delivery Groups, Citrix Gateway / Net Scaler ADC, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Windows Server, Windows multi-session, FSLogix / Citrix Profile Management, VMware vSphere / ESXi or equivalent, Power Shell, and ITIL-based incident/change/problem management.
- Good to Have: Citrix Cloud, Accops, Azure / Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Entra ID, MFA / SAML / OAuth, load balancing, Citrix WEM, monitoring/observability tools, and automation.
Experience Requirements
- 4–8 years of overall IT infrastructure experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on Citrix administration/engineering experience.
- Experience in Citrix implementation, migration, upgrade, and operations.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments and customer escalations.
