Job Title: Japanese & Korean Language Teacher
Department: Foreign Languages / Contemporary Languages
Reports To: Principal / Academic Coordinator / Head of Department

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified, passionate, and enthusiastic Japanese & Korean Language Teacher to teach students Japanese and Korean language skills through engaging, interactive, and activity-based methods. The teacher will develop students’ communication abilities while introducing them to the culture, traditions, and everyday life of Japan and South Korea.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Japanese and Korean language lessons according to the school curriculum.
- Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills.
- Teach Hiragana, Katakana, basic Kanji, and Japanese conversation according to students’ levels.
- Teach Hangul, Korean vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and conversational skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and study materials.
- Conduct conversation practice, role plays, presentations, quizzes, and language games.
- Conduct regular tests, oral assessments, projects, and classroom evaluations.
- Provide remedial and additional support to students who require assistance.
- Introduce students to Japanese and Korean culture, festivals, traditions, history, food, arts, and social practices.
- Organize language clubs, cultural programs, competitions, quizzes,



and other activities.
- Use smart-class technology, audio-visual resources, and digital language-learning tools.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and student progress records.
- Communicate with parents regarding students’ academic progress when required.
- Participate in examinations, staff meetings, school events, workshops, and teacher-training programs.
- Encourage students to build confidence and practical communication skills.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Japanese, Korean, Foreign Languages, Linguistics, or a related field.
- B.Ed. / equivalent teacher-training qualification preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Japanese and/or Korean appropriate to the teaching level.
- JLPT certification for Japanese and/or TOPIK certification for Korean will be an advantage.
- Previous teaching experience in a school, language institute, or educational institution is preferred.
