# Job Description – Purchase Manager

## Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced *Purchase Manager* to manage procurement activities for our manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, packing materials, consumables, spare parts and other plant requirements while ensuring the right *quality, quantity, price and timely delivery*.

## Key Responsibilities

* Manage end-to-end *purchase and procurement activities* for the manufacturing plant.

* Procure *raw materials, packing materials, chemicals, consumables, spare parts and other production requirements*.

* Identify, evaluate and develop reliable *vendors and suppliers*.

* Obtain and compare quotations based on *price, quality, delivery schedule and payment terms*.

* Negotiate *rates, credit terms, delivery timelines and commercial conditions* with suppliers.

* Prepare and release *Purchase Orders (POs)* as per approved requirements.

* Coordinate with *Production, Stores, QC/QA, Accounts and Management* for procurement requirements.

* Monitor stock levels and coordinate with Stores to avoid *material shortages and production delays*.

* Follow up with suppliers to ensure *on-time delivery* of materials.

* Coordinate with QC/QA regarding *quality specifications and approval of incoming materials*.

* Handle vendor complaints related to *quality, quantity, delivery and pricing*.





* Maintain vendor records, quotations, comparative statements, POs and purchase-related documentation.

* Monitor supplier performance and maintain a strong *vendor network*.

* Identify opportunities for *cost reduction and better procurement terms*.

* Ensure purchases are made as per company policies, approved budgets and required specifications.

* Support management in *purchase planning, budgeting and procurement strategy*.

* Maintain proper records of purchase transactions and coordinate with Accounts for invoice/payment-related matters.

## Required Skills

* Robust *vendor management and negotiation skills*.

* Good knowledge of *procurement and purchase processes*.

* Knowledge of raw materials and packing materials used in *Fertilizer, Bio-Fertilizer, Agro-Chemical or Pesticide industries* will be preferred.

* Good knowledge of *MS Excel and MS Office*.

* Strong communication and follow-up skills.

* Ability to manage multiple vendors and purchase requirements simultaneously.

* Good analytical and cost-comparison skills.

* Knowledge of *ERP/Purchase Management Software* will be an advantage.

## Qualification

*Graduate / B.Com / BBA / MBA (Supply Chain/Procurement) or relevant qualification.*

## Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates having experience in *Bio-Fertilizer, Fertilizer, Agro-Chemical, Pesticides, Agriculture or Chemical Manufacturing industries* will be preferred.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
