Position: Consultant General Surgeon

Job Summary

We are looking for a competent and dedicated General Surgeon (MS/DNB) to join our hospital team. The candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical consultation, performing elective and emergency surgical procedures, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct OPD consultations and pre-operative assessments.
- Diagnose and manage patients requiring surgical intervention.
- Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
- Manage post-operative patients and provide appropriate follow-up care.
- Handle surgical emergencies and participate in on-call duties as required.
- Coordinate with physicians, anaesthetists, nursing staff and other specialists.
- Maintain accurate medical records, operative notes and discharge summaries.
- Ensure adherence to infection-control, patient-safety and hospital protocols.




- Counsel patients and relatives regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures and expected outcomes.
- Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to quality improvement activities.

Eligibility

- MS/DNB in General Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with NMC/State Medical Council.
- Good clinical and surgical skills.
- Ability to independently manage routine surgical cases is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
