1. Job Summary

Harsha College of Nursing, Harsha Institutions, invites applications from qualified and experienced nursing professionals for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor in Medical-Surgical Nursing.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality classroom and clinical instruction, mentoring students, coordinating academic activities, supporting research, and contributing to the overall development of the department in accordance with applicable Indian Nursing Council (INC), University, and institutional standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct effective classroom teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students in Medical-Surgical Nursing.
- Plan and deliver lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, seminars, case presentations, and other academic activities.
- Supervise students during clinical postings in medical, surgical, specialty, and critical-care areas.
- Provide clinical instruction and guidance in areas such as medical wards, surgical wards, ICU, emergency care, operation theatre, specialty units, and other relevant clinical settings.
- Demonstrate and supervise nursing procedures and ensure students develop appropriate clinical competencies.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, question papers, and assessment tools.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, clinical evaluations, and other academic assessments.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, clinical performance, and professional conduct.
- Mentor and counsel students regarding academic, clinical, and professional development.
- Maintain accurate academic, clinical, attendance, and departmental records.
- Participate in curriculum planning, academic meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, and faculty development programmes.
- Encourage students to participate in research, evidence-based practice, presentations, conferences, and professional activities.




- Undertake research activities and contribute to publications in nursing and healthcare-related areas.
- Guide students in research projects, dissertations, case studies, and academic presentations, as applicable to the designation.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement, accreditation, inspection, and documentation activities.
- Coordinate with clinical institutions and hospital personnel to ensure effective clinical training and student supervision.
- Follow institutional policies, professional ethics, academic regulations, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Perform additional academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Principal/HOD/Management.

3. Academic & Skilled Qualifications

- Essential: M.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic M.Sc. Nursing with specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing from a recognized institution.
- B.Sc. Nursing qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council / Indian Nursing Council, as applicable.
- Required teaching and clinical experience as prescribed by applicable regulatory and University norms.
- Candidates applying for Associate Professor / Professor should possess the required academic qualifications and teaching experience for the respective designation.
- Ph.D. in Nursing will be an added advantage for senior academic positions.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, adult health nursing, critical care, emergency care, and evidence-based nursing practice.

6. Responsibilities by Designation

Assistant Professor

- Conduct classroom and clinical teaching as assigned.
- Supervise students during medical-surgical clinical postings.
- Conduct student assessments and maintain academic records.
- Participate in departmental activities, research, and institutional programmes.
- Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.

Associate Professor

- Undertake advanced teaching and clinical supervision responsibilities.
- Coordinate academic and clinical activities within the department.
- Guide student research projects and support faculty development.
- Participate in curriculum planning, research, accreditation, and quality improvement activities.
- Assist the HOD in the effective administration of departmental activities.

Professor

- Provide academic and professional leadership to the Medical-Surgical Nursing department.
- Lead academic planning, curriculum development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and guide faculty members and students.
- Supervise research and postgraduate academic activities, as applicable.
- Contribute to accreditation, institutional development, clinical collaborations, and strategic academic initiatives.

Salary: Commensurate with qualification, experience, designation, and institutional norms.

10. Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic qualifications, teaching experience, clinical expertise, research profile, and overall suitability for the position. Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend an interview and/or teaching demonstration as part of the selection process.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
