Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and hardworking Chinese 1st Commis to join our kitchen team. The candidate will assist the Chinese Chef in preparing high-quality Chinese dishes while maintaining hygiene, food quality, and kitchen standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook Chinese dishes as per the restaurant's standard recipes.
- Assist the Chinese Chef / Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Handle preparation of ingredients including cutting, chopping, marinating, sauces, and mise en place.
- Prepare dishes such as noodles, fried rice, soups, starters, gravies, dim sums, and other Chinese cuisine.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, portion size, and food quality.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation and kitchen.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours.




- Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
- Maintain proper kitchen equipment and report any issues to the senior chef.
- Follow instructions from the Chinese Chef and senior kitchen staff.

Requirements

- Experience: 1–3 years in Chinese cuisine preferred.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, café, or fine-dining kitchen.
- Good knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Salary
