Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic, and agile Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to build our financial architecture from the ground up. You will act as a strategic co-pilot to the founders, driving sustainable revenue growth, optimizing unit economics, maximizing cash runway, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Cash Flow & Runway Management: Track daily cash flow, maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast, control burn rates, and ensure the business remains self-sustaining and profitable.
- Unit Economics & Financial Modeling: Analyze cost structures, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), and profit margins to optimize business efficiency.
- Financial Architecture & Controls: Set up accounting software, internal control systems, invoicing, and expense approval workflows from scratch.
- Strategic Advisory & Budgeting: Partner with executive leadership to establish annual budgets, scenario planning, pricing models, and resource allocation strategies.
- Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:



Ensure end-to-end compliance with Indian statutory regulations, including GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC filings, and state-level labor laws.
- HR, Payroll & Vendor Operations: Manage monthly payroll processing, vendor negotiations, payment terms, and contract review.
- Capital & Debt Strategy (Optional): Evaluate alternative capital options (e.g., revenue-based financing, venture debt, bank loans) if growth capital is required without diluting equity.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, financial controller roles, or as a vCFO/Finance Lead in early-stage startups or mid-market enterprises.
- Bootstrapped Mindset: Deep appreciation for frugal innovation, unit economics, cash discipline, and hands-on operational work without a large finance department.
- Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Tally Prime, Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling), and Indian tax portals.
- Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Nagpur, India.
