About MSL Composites

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled **Design Engineer – Composites** to join our Design & Engineering team at **MSL Composites**.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of **5 years of experience in product design and development**, with strong hands-on expertise in **SolidWorks and AutoCAD**.

The candidate will be responsible for developing **3D models, detailed engineering drawings, manufacturing drawings and design solutions** for composite and FRP/GRP products. The role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams including **R&D;, Production, Tool Room, Quality, Projects and Customers**.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & Development

* Develop innovative and technically feasible designs for **FRP/GRP and composite components**.

* Create detailed **3D models, assemblies and product designs** using SolidWorks.

* Prepare accurate **2D engineering and manufacturing drawings** using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

* Convert customer concepts, sketches and technical requirements into detailed engineering designs.

* Support the complete product development lifecycle from concept to final production.

2. Engineering Drawings & Documentation

* Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with appropriate dimensions and tolerances.

* Create assembly drawings, part drawings and fabrication drawings.

* Prepare and maintain **Bill of Materials (BOM)**.

* Ensure proper documentation and revision control of engineering drawings.

* Prepare technical specifications and design-related documents.

3. Composite Product Development

* Understand the design requirements of composite and FRP/GRP components.





* Support the development of products suitable for various composite manufacturing processes.

* Consider manufacturability, material selection and production feasibility during the design stage.

* Work closely with Production and Tool Room teams to ensure smooth conversion of designs into finished products.

* Support design modifications based on manufacturing challenges and customer requirements.

4. Design Optimization

* Improve existing product designs for:

* Better manufacturability

* Cost optimization

* Weight reduction

* Improved product performance

* Ease of assembly

* Enhanced quality and durability

* Identify opportunities for design improvements and engineering innovation.

* Participate in value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

* Coordinate with:

* Production Team

* Quality Team

* Tool Room

* R&D; Team

* Project Team

* Purchase & Supply Chain

* Customers and Technical Consultants

* Provide technical support during prototype development and product trials.

* Support troubleshooting of design-related issues during manufacturing.

* Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions.

6. Prototype & Development Support

* Support prototype development and validation activities.





* Coordinate with manufacturing teams during the first-off and trial production stages.

* Review prototype feedback and implement necessary design modifications.

* Ensure the final design meets customer specifications and internal quality requirements.

* Tooling and Mould Development

Knowledge of **composite materials and manufacturing processes** will be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification

**B.Tech / B.E. – Mechanical Engineering**

Candidates with additional certification or professional training in:

* SolidWorks

* AutoCAD

* Product Design

* CAD/CAM

will be preferred.

Experience Required

* **Minimum: 5 Years**

* Relevant experience in **Design & Product Development**

* Strong hands-on experience in **SolidWorks and AutoCAD**

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
