Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, caring, and approachable Residential Student Counsellor to oversee the well-being, discipline, safety, and day-to-day residential life of students in the Girls’ Hostel. The candidate will act as a supportive mentor and coordinate with parents, wardens, faculty members, and the administration when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide guidance, counselling, and emotional support to residential students.
- Monitor students’ well-being, discipline, attendance, and general conduct.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive hostel environment.
- Address students’ concerns and assist in resolving interpersonal or personal issues.
- Monitor hostel routines, study hours, meals, and other student activities.
- Maintain proper records of student attendance, incidents, counselling sessions, and other hostel-related matters.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding important student-related matters when authorized.
- Coordinate with the Hostel Warden, Principal, faculty, and administration.
- Identify students who may require additional academic, personal, or emotional support and refer them to appropriate authorities/professionals.
- Handle emergencies and ensure that appropriate action is taken promptly.
- Encourage good behaviour, personal responsibility, cleanliness,



and respect for hostel rules.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and counselling matters.
- Perform other hostel/student welfare duties assigned by the management.

Eligibility & Skills

- Experience in student counselling, hostel/residential supervision, educational institutions, or youth welfare will be an advantage.
- Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, empathetic, approachable, and mature in handling student concerns.
- Ability to maintain discipline while creating a friendly and supportive environment.
- Willingness to stay in the Girls’ Hostel as a residential staff member.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergencies as required.

Salary: As per qualification and experience

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
