About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Loss Prevention Consultant to join our Asia Pacific Division, based in our Mumbai office. This is a permanent, full-time position designed for a qualified engineer who aspires to develop a career in loss prevention engineering. The role offers an excellent opportunity to apply engineering principles in real-world scenarios, helping clients identify and mitigate risks that could threaten their property and operational continuity. As a Loss Prevention Consultant, you will be instrumental in conducting site assessments, providing engineering solutions, and supporting clients in risk reduction strategies. This role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for safety and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Working knowledge of construction practices, project execution, and assessment of flood, wind, and earthquake risks.
- 2–7 years of relevant experience with large EPC organizations, project/construction management firms, or engineering roles supporting large industrial facilities, petrochemical plants, or complex commercial projects.
- Field or site engineering experience, with a proven ability to evaluate physical properties and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated business acumen and project leadership skills,
with a strong sense of ownership over deliverables and cross-functional coordination.
- Willingness to travel extensively and engage directly with clients, project teams, and site personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Efficient time management skills with the ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven technical proficiency with diverse engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and related software tools.
Responsibilities
The Loss Prevention Consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at assessing and mitigating risks associated with large commercial and industrial properties. The role involves a mix of field visits, office work, and project management, requiring excellent time management and organizational skills. You will initially undergo extensive training to understand FM's standards, industry best practices, and to build relationships with mentors. As you gain experience, you will independently evaluate client facilities, perform site assessments, and develop engineering solutions tailored to client needs.
Your core responsibilities include conducting in office evaluations of physical properties, such as roofs, water supply systems, chemical storage areas, and dust hazards. You will analyze site conditions, identify potential risks, and recommend engineering controls or modifications to enhance safety and reduce potential losses. Your assessments will encompass various hazards, including flood, wind, earthquake risks, and other relevant factors, ensuring comprehensive risk management.
Effective communication is vital in this role. You will need to clearly articulate your findings, recommendations, and engineering solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Building strong relationships with clients and internal teams is essential for successful project execution. You will adhere to FM Engineering Standards, ensuring all assessments and recommendations meet industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
As your expertise develops, you will take on larger and more complex assessments, contributing to the development of risk mitigation strategies that help clients protect their assets and operations. Your role will also involve documenting findings, preparing reports, and supporting clients in implementing recommended safety measures. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing client needs is crucial for success in this position.
