Job Description: Field Surveyor – Socio-Economic SurveyLocation: Bhubaneswar, Odisha Engagement Type: Part-Time / Freelance (with potential for long-term engagement) Reporting To: Field Supervisor / Project Coordinator
About the RoleWe are looking for motivated and reliable Field Surveyors to conduct a socio-economic survey across the Bhubaneswar area. The role involves visiting households/localities, administering structured questionnaires, and collecting accurate data to support the study's objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates seeking flexible, field-based work with the possibility of continued engagement on future projects.
- Key ResponsibilitiesConduct door-to-door / field visits to administer socio-economic survey questionnaires to identified respondents
- Explain survey objectives clearly to respondents and obtain informed consent
- Accurately record responses using paper forms or mobile data collection tools (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox, or similar)
- Ensure data quality, completeness, and honesty in every survey conducted
- Meet daily/weekly survey targets as assigned by the field supervisor
- Report field challenges, logistical issues, or data discrepancies promptly
- Attend training sessions and briefings prior to fieldwork
- Maintain professionalism and cultural sensitivity while interacting with the local community
- Candidate RequirementsEducation: Graduate in any discipline (Bachelor's degree mandatory)
- Language: Basic proficiency in both Odia and English (spoken and written)
- Mobility: Willingness to travel within Bhubaneswar and surrounding areas as required
- Availability: Open to part-time or freelance arrangements; flexible with working hours
- Attitude: Interest in long-term association with future survey/research projects
- Skills: Basic smartphone usage; good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior Experience: Not mandatory, but prior experience in field surveys, data collection, or community outreach will be an advantage
