Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable server-side systems and APIs. In this role, you will lead the core backend architecture, integrate third-party services, manage databases, and collaborate closely with frontend engineers and DevOps teams to deliver reliable applications.

Key Responsibilities

- API & System Architecture: Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Node.js (Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify).
- Database Management: Structure, optimize, and maintain SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases with appropriate ORMs/ODMs (Prisma, TypeORM, Mongoose).
- Performance & Scalability: Optimize backend code, database queries, and caching strategies to minimize latency and manage heavy traffic loads.
- Integration & Microservices: Implement authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth), payment gateways, and third-party APIs while managing microservices or event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, modular, and well-documented TypeScript/JavaScript code. Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jest, Mocha).




- Security & Reliability: Follow web security best practices (CORS, rate limiting, encryption, OWASP top 10) to safeguard infrastructure and sensitive data.

Required Qualifications

- Experience: 3+ years of qualified backend software engineering experience with Node.js.
- Language Proficiency: Strong command of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Database Expertise: Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis caching).
- API Design: Hands-on experience developing and documenting RESTful APIs (Swagger/OpenAPI) or GraphQL.
- Tools & DevOps: Familiarity with Git, Docker containerization, and basic CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Computer Science Fundamentals: Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, async programming, event-loop architecture, and system design principles.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and serverless services (AWS Lambda, Cloud Functions).
- Knowledge of web sockets for real-time applications (Socket.io).
- Familiarity with queue management systems (BullMQ, RabbitMQ) and microservice architecture.
