- System Design: Layout fire hydrants, sprinkler networks, fire pump rooms, and standalone suppression systems using AutoCAD
- Hydraulic Calculations: Compute pressure demands, pipe sizing, and water flow rates for sprinklers and spray setups.
- Code Compliance: Ensure adherence to standards like the National Building Code (NBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and local regulations.
- Project Coordination: Work alongside architects and other MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering disciplines to resolve clashes and prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
Requirements & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Software Proficiency: AutoCAD and specialized hydraulic calculation tools.
- Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of fire safety philosophies, pump selection, and water storage requirements.
