Job Description – Captain (In-House Operations)

Position: CaptainRole Overview:

The Captain is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day warehouse/store operations within the Blinkit Dark Store. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, order fulfillment efficiency, and adherence to operational standards.

- Key Responsibilities:1. Picking OperationsEnsure accurate and timely picking of customer orders.
- Verify product quantity and quality before dispatch.
- Minimize picking errors and maintain productivity targets.
- Coordinate with store staff to ensure seamless order processing.
- 2. Putaway OperationsEnsure all incoming inventory is properly stored in designated locations.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO guidelines where applicable.
- Maintain organized storage areas for easy product identification and retrieval.
- Update inventory records as per standard operating procedures.
- 3. Inventory AuditConduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts.
- Identify and report stock discrepancies.
- Ensure inventory accuracy between physical stock and system records.
- Support periodic and monthly audit activities.




- 4. Store OperationsMonitor daily operational activities and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
- Coordinate with team members to achieve operational KPIs.
- Report operational issues and suggest process improvements.
- Requirements:Experience in warehouse, dark store, retail, or inventory operations preferred.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and auditing processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and team coordination abilities.
- Basic knowledge of handheld devices and inventory management systems is an advantage.
