A DTP (Desktop Publishing) Operator specializing in educational materials designs precise OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheets and accurately typesets complex mathematical equations, symbols, and formulas using publishing tools like Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, and MS Word

Key Responsibilities

OMR Sheet Design & Layout

· Design clean, standard, and scannable OMR response sheets for examinations, tests, and surveys.

· Set accurate alignment markers, timing tracks, barcode blocks, and bubble grids to ensure accurate machine reading.

· Define precise dimensions, margins, grid spacing, and color coding (drop-out ink specs or black/white templates) for high-speed printing.

Math Typing & Typesetting

· Type and format complex mathematical equations, algebraic expressions, fractions, matrices, and geometric symbols.

· Utilize equation editors (MathType, or MS Word Equation Editor) to maintain clean and uniform typography.

· Align mathematical symbols, figures, and numerical tables properly alongside instructional text

General DTP & Quality Control

· Format test papers, assessment booklets,



and practice worksheets.

· Proofread layouts to catch and correct alignment errors, missing symbols, or misaligned bubbles before final production.

· Deliver print-ready vector or PDF files adhering strictly to production deadlines

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of CorelDRAW, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and MS Office (MathType).

· Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of print specifications, grid structures, and OMR scanner requirements.

· Speed & Accuracy: High typing speed with extreme precision in handling complex mathematical text and numbers.

· Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in an educational publishing house or test-prep institute
