About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Database & Technology Leader to drive our database strategy, manage high-performing engineering teams, and deliver scalable solutions in the Insurance/InsurTech/FinTech domain. The ideal candidate should bring deep expertise in database management, cloud platforms, and emerging technologies, while also excelling in team leadership and domain-specific solutioning.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership

- Configure and maintain database management systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MS-SQL).

- Define and implement policies for database maintenance, security, and usage.

- Manage database availability, performance, and incident/problem resolution.

- Update and optimize database code as new technologies emerge.

- Implement and oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.

- Stay updated on emerging technologies and leverage them to drive innovation.

Team Management

- Mentor and guide engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.

- Translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

- Allocate resources, manage timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on scope.

- Resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth team operations.

- Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the team.

Domain Expertise

- Design industry-specific solutions in insurance/InsurTech/FinTech, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Understand and apply core domain concepts such as underwriting, claims, risk assessment, and policy lifecycle.

- Provide insights into industry trends, market shifts, and competitor activities.

Data Warehousing & Advanced Analytics

- Design and maintain data warehouses for consolidated analytics and reporting.

- Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to provide structured datasets.





- Implement and manage ETL pipelines for smooth data flows.

AI & Emerging Database Technologies

- Research and implement AI-driven database management and predictive analytics.

- Leverage ML-based tools for database optimization and anomaly detection.

- Evaluate and adopt emerging database technologies for efficiency improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills

- Databases: Proficiency in relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra) databases.

- Experience: Minimum 10+ years in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL.

- Architecture: Strong knowledge of microservices-based architecture.

- APIs: Expertise in RESTful APIs/GraphQL design, integration, and management (security, monitoring).

- DevOps & Cloud: Hands-on with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Security: Understanding of secure coding practices, authentication (OAuth, SSO), and compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR).

- Data Warehousing: Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar.

- Analytics: SQL optimization, ETL processes, and AI/ML-enabled database management tools.

Management Skills

- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.

- Solid project management (planning, prioritization, risk management).

- Excellent communication & stakeholder management.

- Ability to motivate and inspire teams while ensuring accountability.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Education & Certifications

- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

- Certifications in relevant database, cloud, or DevOps technologies preferred.
