Job Title: Manager – Process Design & Engineering (Sewage/Wastewater Treatment)

About the Role

n

Responsible for end-to-end process engineering of sewage treatment plant (STP) projects, from tender study through commissioning support.

n

Responsibilities

n

n
- Study tender documents thoroughly to understand technical, performance, and statutory requirements for sewage treatment schemes
n
- Prepare complete process design and sizing calculations for STPs based on prevailing technologies (SBR, MBBR, ASP, MBR, Oxidation Ditch, FAB, etc.)
n
- Develop Hydraulic Flow Diagrams (HFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID;)
n
- Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, equipment specifications, and support commercial proposal preparation
n
- Coordinate with clients/consultants for approval of design basis, drawings, and all technical submissions; track and close review comments
n
- Liaise with mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation teams to ensure design integration
n
- Provide process support during detailed engineering, procurement, and construction stages
n
- Review plant operations, troubleshoot process upsets, and recommend corrective/optimization measures
n
- Ensure designs comply with CPHEEO manual, state pollution control board norms,



and other applicable Indian standards

Qualifications

n

n
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering (Environmental Engineering preferred)
n
- 8–15 years' experience in STP process design, with proven track record of large municipal sewage treatment projects in India
n

n

Required Skills

n

n
- Strong hands-on expertise in multiple treatment technologies (SBR, MBBR, ASP, MBR, UASB, FAB, tertiary treatment, sludge handling)
n
- Proficiency in process calculations, mass balance, hydraulic design, and sizing of treatment units
n
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD (for HFD/P&ID; review), and design software/tools used in process engineering
n
- Familiarity with CPHEEO guidelines, CPCB/SPCB norms, and tender/bid documentation for government/municipal projects
n
- Experience preparing techno-commercial proposals and BOQs
n
- Solid client interfacing and coordination skills for approvals and submissions
n
- Analytical and troubleshooting ability for operational process issues
n
- Good communication and documentation skills; ability to work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams
n
