We are looking for a warm, confident, and community-minded volunteer to plan and deliver offline (in-person) seminars for families in our community. The volunteer will lead sessions on cyber and screen hygiene, family wellbeing and communication, mental health awareness, bullying prevention, and health and nutrition — and will also help mobilise and gather local residents, parents, and children to attend. This is a high-impact, front-facing role suited to someone who enjoys public speaking, connecting with people of all ages, and turning awareness into real conversations within families.
Seminar Topics to Cover
Cyber & Screen Hygiene for All Ages — secure and balanced use of phones, apps, gaming and social media, with a special focus on children: screen-time limits, online safety, privacy, and healthy digital habits.
Family Wellbeing — building encouraging, non-judgemental homes; reducing negativity and criticism; practical tools for open, respectful communication between parents and children and among family members.
Mental Health for the Whole Family — recognising stress,
anxiety and emotional struggles in children, parents and elders; reducing stigma; when and how to seek professional support.
Bullying — recognising bullying (including cyberbullying), prevention strategies, and how parents, children and schools can respond and support one another.
Health & Nutrition — age-appropriate guidance on balanced diets, healthy routines, and lifestyle habits for children and adults.
Key Responsibilities
Session Planning
Prepare simple, engaging, and culturally appropriate content for each seminar topic, suitable for a mixed audience of children, parents, and elders.
Coordinate with the NGO team on scheduling, venue, and required materials (posters, handouts, activity sheets).
Facilitation
Deliver interactive, offline seminars — using simple language, real-life examples, activities, and participatory open discussion rather than lecture-style talks.
