- To take a detail clinical history and perform physical and systemic examination and write the findings.
- To inform admission/discharge/death to the Consultant Intensivist/Clinical Associate/Primary Consultant.
- Explain the investigation and treatment plan to the concerned staff nurse.
- To follow up investigation reports and vital parameters and inform the same to the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant.
- To ensure that the advice and treatment given by Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant is followed and documented properly.
- To inform any change in vitals to the duty clinical associate and carry out his order in conjunction with the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant.
- To do MLC documents and inform the police.
- To ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols in the unit.
- To inform seniors and document all the events regarding the patient’s clinical condition.
- To address and discuss with relatives any change in treatment plan whenever necessary.
- To accompany the patient for any investigation out of the CCU such as MRI/CT scan.
- To report to clinical associate on call.
- To explain and take consent of any procedure done in the CCU.
- To perform and carry out the procedures under the supervision of the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant/Clinical Associate.
- To communicate any change in treatment plan to the nursing staff and team leader.
- To co-ordinate any nursing related issue to the team leader, nurse manager and clinical associate.
- To maintain discipline in the unit.
- To attend and present seminars and have an active participation in academic activities of all department.
- To perform bedside teaching programmed for nurses and recent entrants.
- To prepare patient for procedures.
- To fill the death certificate/MLC documents in consultation with the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant.
- To give and take a detailed handover from the on duty Clinical Assistant.
- To take/Attend clinical rounds with seniors
