1. X & Revolving-Frame Design: Design and develop high-strength upper and lower frames specifically optimized for battery mounting and protection in a 22MT class machine.
2. Weight Distribution & Stability: Re-engineer the machine’s center of gravity (CoG) to account for the removal of the engine/fuel tank and the addition of heavy Lithium-ion battery enclosures.
3. Advanced FEA & Simulation: Perform complex Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Fatigue analysis, and Stress testing using tools like Ansys or Nastran to ensure a 10,000+ hour structural life.
4. Boom & Arm Optimization: Design high-tensile work tools (Boom, Arm, Bucket) that can handle the instantaneous high torque delivered by PMSM motors.
5. Material Selection: Select advanced high-strength steels to balance durability with weight reduction to improve energy efficiency.
6. Vibration & Thermal Integration: Design structural mounts that dampen high-frequency vibrations from electric motors and integrate cooling paths for the thermal management system.
7. DFMA:
Ensure designs are optimized for welding robot accessibility and ease of assembly
Requirements
1. Education: B.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
2. Heavy Steel Expertise: Deep knowledge of heavy plate fabrication, welding standards (AWS/ISO), and casting-to-fabrication conversions.
3. Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in NX, Creo, or Catia for 3D modeling and Ansys/Hypermesh for structural simulation.
4. Load Case Development: Experience in defining "Worst Case" load cycles for mining applications (rock stripping, heavy lifting, and side-loading).
5. EV Specific Logic: Understanding of IP67/69K sealing requirements for structural battery enclosures and high-voltage cable routing protection.
6. Track Record: Must have played a lead role in at least two Current Product Development (NPD) cycles for excavators or similar tracked vehicles.
