Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Measure, cut, and assemble wooden or metal formwork (shuttering)
- Install shuttering for columns, beams, slabs, walls, and foundations
- Ensure correct alignment, leveling, and structural stability
- Dismantle shuttering safely after concrete has set
- Repair, maintain, and reuse shuttering materials
- Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and other workers
- Follow safety rules and maintain a clean work area
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a shuttering carpenter in construction projects
- Knowledge of timber, plywood, steel formwork, and tools
- Ability to read and understand drawings and measurements
- Physically fit and able to work at heights
- Understanding of construction safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with system formwork (Doka, Peri, etc.)
- Knowledge of concrete pouring procedures
- Good time management and problem-solving skills
Work Setting:
- Construction sites (residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects)
- May involve working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
