1. Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care by following clinical protocols, maintaining patient safety, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the assigned unit. The nurse supports doctors during procedures, monitors patient conditions, and ensures proper documentation.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Patient Care
- Provide direct nursing care to patients as per hospital standards.
- Monitor vital signs, patient symptoms, and overall condition regularly.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as prescribed.
- Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and mobility support.
- Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, and treatments.

B. Clinical Duties
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and patient care instruments.
- Collect samples for lab tests and ensure correct labeling.
- Maintain proper nursing notes, reports, and patient files.
- Ensure timely shifting of patients for diagnostic tests or procedures.

C. Safety & Compliance
- Follow infection control protocols and hand hygiene guidelines.
- Ensure safe disposal of biomedical waste.




- Maintain emergency crash-cart readiness.
- Comply with hospital policies, NABH/NABL standards (if applicable).

D. Patient & Family Communication
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and discharge care.
- Handle patient queries with empathy and professionalism.
- Provide psychological support to patients and relatives.

E. Emergency Response
- Provide first aid and life-saving support during emergencies.
- Assist in Code Blue/Code Red situations as required.

4. Qualifications
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing
- Valid Nursing Council Registration
- 0-5 years of experience (as per requirement)
