Role Description This contract role is for a SAP Data Archiving Consultant with 12+ years of experience, based in Bengaluru in a hybrid arrangement, combining in office presence with some work-from-home flexibility. The consultant will design and implement SAP data archiving strategies, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and system performance goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing data growth and system usage, defining archiving objects and rules, configuring and testing archiving processes, and coordinating with functional and technical teams to minimize business disruption. The role involves monitoring archived data, troubleshooting archiving jobs, optimizing storage and retrieval, and preparing documentation, standards, and training materials for stakeholders. The consultant will also collaborate with data governance, infrastructure, and security teams to support long-term data lifecycle management and continuous improvement of archiving practices.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data,



identify trends, and make recommendations for archiving and performance optimization.
Experience in Data Analytics and Data Science to support data-driven decisions around retention, compliance, and system performance.
Hands-on expertise in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools to manage data movement, consolidation, and preparation for archiving.
Proficiency in Data Modeling, including designing and optimizing data structures aligned with SAP archiving requirements and business needs.
12+ years of experience in SAP data archiving and data lifecycle management, preferably across multiple SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, MM, SD, HR).
Deep understanding of SAP BASIS concepts, database performance, storage management, and integration with backup and recovery solutions.
