Role Overview

The CNC Machine Shop Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for machining components with high precision and efficiency. The role involves close coordination with production, design, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities1. CNC Programming
- Develop CNC programs for:
- VMC (Vertical Machining Center)
- HMC (Horizontal Machining Center)
- CNC Turning / Lathe
- VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe)
- Write and edit G-code / M-code programs:
- Perform program simulation and verification before production

2. CAD/CAM Operations
- Generate toolpaths using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360)
- Interpret 2D drawings and 3D models
- Optimize machining strategies (roughing, finishing, drilling, etc.)

3. Process Planning
- Select tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters
- Define machining sequence and setup instructions
- Prepare process sheets and setup documentation

4. GD&T; & Drawing Interpretation
- Read and interpret engineering drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing:




- Ensure programs meet tolerance and surface finish requirements

5. Optimization & Cost Control
- Reduce cycle time and improve productivity
- Optimize tool life and minimize tool wear
- Support cost reduction through efficient machining processes

6. Shop Floor Support
- Assist operators during setup and prove-out of programs
- Troubleshoot machining issues (tool breakage, dimension errors, chatter)
- Modify programs based on actual machining conditions

7. Quality Coordination
- Work with QA team to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Support first article inspection (FAI)
- Implement corrective actions for defects

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3-8 years experience in CNC programming
- Strong knowledge of VMC, HMC, CNC turning, VTL
- Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
