ABOUT THE ROLE

You will design the full electrical system for an autonomous undersea vehicle: power distribution architecture, battery system integration, vehicle electrical harness, signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC compliance to defence standards.

The system spans a wide dynamic range from high-power propulsion to an ultra-low-power dormancy mode with strict hotel load requirements. Getting this right across the full operating envelope is the challenge of the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design DC vehicle power distribution architecture: bus topology, fault isolation, load shedding, and dormancy power budget
- Specify and integrate a Battery Management System with a high-capacity battery stack
- Design power conditioning for energy harvesting during transit




- Design the vehicle electrical harness to defence connector and wiring standards
- Perform power integrity analysis: PDN impedance, transient response, and ripple margin across all load states
- Perform signal integrity analysis: controlled impedance routing, differential pair management, EMI coupling between power and signal domains
- Develop and maintain power budget across all vehicle operating modes
- Support MIL-STD-461G EMC compliance from architecture through qualification
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- BTech or MTech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Power electronics and battery system design: DC-DC converters, BMS architecture, fault isolation
- Signal integrity and power integrity: PDN design, controlled impedance, EMI coupling analysis
- Vehicle, marine, aerospace, or defence harness design experience
- Defence-grade connector and wiring practice
