Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical assembly of machine tools as per engineering drawings
- Hand scraping of guideways and mating surfaces
- Precision fitting of slides, spindles, gearboxes, and mechanical components
- Alignment and leveling of machine beds and columns
- Checking geometric accuracy using dial gauges, spirit levels, test mandrels, autocollimator (if required)
- Assembly of ball screws, lead screws, bearings, and hydraulic components
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues during assembly
- Maintaining quality standards as per company norms
- Coordination with design and quality departments
- On-site installation and commissioning support (if required)
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of tolerances, fits, and machine tool alignment
- Experience in hand scraping and blue matching
- Valuable knowledge of measuring instruments
- Understanding of gearbox assembly and bearing fitting
- Basic knowledge of CNC machine assembly (preferred)
Qualification:
- ITI / Diploma in Fitter / Mechanical Trade
- Additional apprenticeship in machine tool industry preferred
Preferred Background:
- Experience in Lathe Machine Manufacturing
- Experience in Surface Grinder or Milling Machine Assembly
- Knowledge of CNC Machine Tool Assembly (added advantage)
