Job description

- The Video Editor will be responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcasting
- The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects
- This is a key role in the post-production process and the editor s skill can determine the quality and delivery of the final product
- The editor will work closely with the director to achieve the desired end result

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Reviewing raw material to determine the shot list.
- Manipulating film and video footage using modern editing techniques.
- Maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value.
- Trimming footage and putting together the rough project.
- Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects.




- Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence.
- Consulting with the director and production team throughout the project.
- Creating the final cut for broadcasting.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven work experience as a video editor with a robust portfolio.
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks).
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing.
- Creative mind and storytelling skills.
