Role & responsibilities

- Lead the overall Quality Engineering strategy across the software development lifecycle.
- Define quality standards, testing methodologies, automation strategy, and engineering best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and other stakeholders to build quality into every stage of development.
- Drive shift-left testing, continuous testing, and CI/CD integration to improve release quality and velocity.
- Review requirements and technical designs to identify quality risks, gaps, and testability concerns early.
- Establish and track quality metrics, test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.
- Lead automation initiatives to improve test coverage, reliability, execution time, and overall engineering efficiency.
- Identify and implement improvements in testing processes, tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Troubleshoot complex quality and automation issues and drive root-cause analysis.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure adherence to coding, automation, and quality standards.
- Mentor and coach QA/SDET engineers and provide technical leadership across the team.
- Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies that improve product quality and testing efficiency.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Own quality risks and collaborate with teams to ensure high-quality, reliable,



and timely releases

Preferred candidate profile

- 5 to 10 years of experience in Quality Engineering, SDET, QA Automation, or Software Testing, with experience in a technical leadership role.
- Solid programming experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Hands-on expertise in Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, API automation, and Rest Assured.
- Strong understanding of test automation architecture, framework design, test strategy, and quality engineering practices.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Good knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and performance testing.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, shift-left testing, continuous testing, and DevOps practices.
- Experience defining and monitoring quality metrics, test coverage, defect management, and release quality.
- Proven ability to design scalable solutions, solve complex technical problems, and drive quality initiatives.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, ECE, or a related discipline; MCA or equivalent technical qualification is also acceptable.
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, AWS/Azure/GCP, or Agile/Scrum are an added advantage.
