Job Description – CFD, Combustion & Thermo-Structural Analysis Engineer (R&D;) Position: CFD, Combustion & Thermo-Structural Analysis Engineer Department: Research & Development (R&D;) Experience: 1–2 Years (Industry, Research, or Post-Doctoral Experience) Education: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Thermal Sciences, Energy Engineering, Computational Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline from a reputed institute. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from recognized institutions are preferred. Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated CFD, Combustion, and Thermo-Structural Analysis Engineer to join our advanced R&D; team focused on next-generation ceramic manufacturing technologies. The candidate will be responsible for developing physics-based simulation models to optimize thermal processes, combustion systems, kiln performance, material behavior, and energy efficiency across ceramic production operations. The role involves multidisciplinary modeling combining fluid dynamics, heat transfer, combustion, thermomechanical behavior, materials science, and digital engineering approaches. Candidates with strong computational modeling expertise and a passion for industrial innovation are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities CFD & Thermal Analysis Develop and validate CFD models for: oIndustrial kilns oDryers oBurners oHeat recovery systems oAirflow distribution systems oFlue gas treatment equipment Simulate: oTurbulent flows oConjugate heat transfer oRadiation heat transfer oMultiphase flows oSpecies transport oGas-solid interactions Optimize thermal uniformity and temperature distribution in ceramic products. Perform transient and steady-state thermal simulations. Combustion Engineering Model combustion processes involving:



oNatural gas oHydrogen blends oBiogas oAlternative low-carbon fuels Analyze: oFlame stability oFuel-air mixing oNOx formation oCO emissions oCombustion efficiency Develop reduced-order and high-fidelity combustion models. Support decarbonization initiatives and energy transition projects. Thermo-Structural Analysis Perform coupled thermal-structural simulations for: oKiln furniture oRefractory systems oCeramic products oHeat exchanger components oBurner assemblies Evaluate: oThermal stresses oThermal shock resistance oCreep oMaterial deformation Investigate failure mechanisms and propose design improvements. Digital Engineering & AI Applications Develop surrogate models using: oMachine Learning oPhysics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) oReduced Order Models (ROM) Apply AI/ML techniques for: oProcess optimization oPredictive maintenance oVirtual sensing Build digital twins for thermal manufacturing processes. Collaborate with data scientists and process engineers. Research & Innovation Conduct advanced research in: oHeat transfer enhancement oCombustion optimization oAdvanced ceramic processing oSustainable manufacturing Publish technical papers and patents. Participate in team-oriented projects with universities and research institutes. Stay updated on emerging simulation methodologies and AI technologies. Required Qualifications Education Ph.D. in:



oMechanical Engineering oThermal Engineering oAerospace Engineering oEnergy Systems oComputational Mechanics oMaterials Engineering oRelated discipline Strong academic background in both Bachelor's and Master's studies. Technical Skills CFD Experience with one or more: ANSYS Fluent ANSYS CFX STAR-CCM+ OpenFOAM Knowledge of: Turbulence modeling Radiation models Multiphase flow Species transport Combustion modeling Mesh generation Structural Analysis Experience with: ANSYS Mechanical ABAQUS Knowledge of: Linear and nonlinear FEA Thermal stress analysis Contact mechanics Fracture mechanics Fatigue and creep Programming Proficiency in: Python Scientific Computing Experience with: Data analytics Numerical methods Automation workflows Desired Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to convert physical phenomena into computational models. Scientific writing and technical communication. Cross-functional collaboration. Innovation mindset and curiosity. Ability to work independently on research projects. Preferred Research Areas Candidates who have Ph.D. research experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly preferred: Industrial combustion Hydrogen combustion CFD of furnaces and kilns Heat transfer enhancement Thermo-mechanical behavior of ceramics Refractory engineering Digital twins Physics-based AI Surrogate modeling Multi-scale simulation Uncertainty quantification Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) CFD model prediction accuracy. Reduction in kiln fuel consumption. Improvement in thermal uniformity. Reduction in product defects. Simulation-driven design improvements implemented. Patents, publications, and innovation disclosures. Development of AI-enabled predictive models. Contribution to sustainability and CO reduction targets.
