The Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund has officially launched the call for entries into the 2026 Maltina Teacher of the Year (MTOTY) competition, inviting exceptional secondary school teachers across Nigeria to apply for the prestigious award. The 12th edition of the initiative, which recognizes and celebrates outstanding educators who shape the future of Nigerian students, opened for submissions on June 3, 2026.

Message Us on WhatsApp In a statement promoting the award, organizers emphasized the importance of honoring teachers’ dedication: “Because every teacher who changes lives deserves to be celebrated.” The competition highlights the transformative role educators play in classrooms nationwide. Long-standing Impact

Since its inception in 2015, the Maltina Teacher of the Year award has recognized over 300 teachers. It enjoys support from key education stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Education, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

The grand finale, where the 2026 winner will be announced, is scheduled for October 30, 2026.14
