Role Description The Verification Editor is a full-time, on-site role based in Lucknow, India. This role is responsible for reviewing incoming video footage from the LENS network and verifying its authenticity, source, and editorial integrity before it is published on the LENS marketplace.

Day-to-day tasks include cross-checking information with trusted sources, analyzing metadata and visual details, and flagging potential inaccuracies or ethical concerns.

The Verification Editor collaborates with reporters, correspondents, and editorial colleagues to clarify context, confirm timelines,



and ensure compliance with internal guidelines and industry standards. The role also involves maintaining detailed verification records, contributing to best practices for fact-checking, and supporting continuous improvement in LENS’s verification workflows.

Qualifications

- Strong editorial judgment and news sense, with experience in journalism, newsroom operations, or content verification.
- Proficiency in fact-checking, source validation and verifying digital content.
- Ability to analyze video footage, metadata, and contextual clues to detect inconsistencies, manipulation, or misrepresentation.
- Familiarity with digital platforms, social media ecosystems, and the online news environment in India.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to make decisions under time pressure.
- Comfort working with content management tools, basic video players, and standard productivity software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
- Commitment to ethical journalism, nonpartisan verification, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and fairness.
- Ability to work in office, adapt in a fast-paced environment, and coordinate with a geographically distributed reporting network.
