Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Configuration Manager to lead and govern Configuration Management activities for the Cosmos Project . The Configuration Manager is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving Configuration Management (CM) practices across products, projects, and Agile Release Trains (ARTs). The role ensures the integrity, traceability, reproducibility, and auditability of all configuration items throughout the software development and release lifecycle.

The Configuration Manager establishes CM strategies, manages baselines, controls configuration changes, ensures compliance with organizational and Automotive SPICE requirements, and works closely with Development, QA, DevOps, Release Engineering, Architecture, and Quality teams to maintain consistent and controlled delivery processes. This role is critical in ensuring end-to-end traceability from change requests through releases and supporting compliance, audit readiness, and long-term product maintenance.

Responsibilities

- Define and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMPs) for projects and ARTs.
- Establish CM strategy, scope, governance model, operating cadence, and audit schedules.
- Define configuration item taxonomy, naming conventions, versioning standards, and approval workflows.
- Ensure CM activities align with release management and PI planning cycles.
- Identify, classify, and maintain configuration items including software, documentation, test assets, build configurations, environment templates, release artifacts, and compliance evidence.
- Maintain accurate and accessible CI registers and ownership information.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of configuration records.
- Own the branching strategy (mainline, release branches, hotfix) in line with release cadence and rollback needs.




- Enforce tagging standards (signedtags where required), semantic/agreed versioning, and provenance metadata (commit/build/time).
- Establish baseline types, approval criteria, and governance checkpoints.
- Coordinate creation, review, approval, and maintenance of design, test, code, and release baselines.
- Maintain baseline registers and ensure controlled evolution of baselined artifacts.
- Ensure build pipelines generate traceable and reproducible software artifacts.
- Govern artifact repository structure, retention policies, immutability, and archival mechanisms.
- Conduct rebuild verification activities to validate release reproducibility.
- Manage SBOMs, checksums, and software integrity controls where applicable.
- Integrate Configuration Management processes with Change Request and defect management workflows.
- Ensure all configuration changes are traceable to approved requests.
- Govern runtime parameters, feature flags, configuration files, and environment-specific settings.
- Support compliance with Automotive SPICE SUP. 10 requirements.

- Create CM dashboards, metrics, reports, and compliance status updates.
- Identify risks, gaps, and corrective actions.
- Define and monitor backup and recovery strategies for repositories and artifact stores.
- Ensure long-term retention and preservation of release evidence and baselines.
- Support legal, regulatory,



and organizational archival requirements.
- Collaborate with Release Engineering during release preparation and deployment activities.
- Validate completeness and traceability of release evidence packages.
- Ensure successful repository synchronization with external stakeholders and customer organizations.
- Support release reviews such as SRR and RCC.
- Support internal and external audits, assessments, and Automotive SPICE evaluations.
- Address audit findings through corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive automation, standardization, and process improvements to enhance CM effectiveness.
- Improve documentation quality and reduce operational inefficiencies.

Required Skills

- 7+ years of experience in project management Configuration Management.
- Robust knowledge of Configuration Management principles: Configuration Planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Audits.
- Expertise in baseline management and configuration governance.
- Understanding of release management and change control processes.
- Experience in Automotive SPICE, particularly SUP. 10 and related support processes.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end traceability requirements.
- Advanced Git expertise: Branching strategies, Tagging standards, Protected branches, Cherry-pick and revert practices, Signed tags.
- CI/CD platforms: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD Pipeline governance.
- Artifact repository management and software provenance practices.
- Jira (DevStack/VWIF) administration and reporting.
- Confluence documentation and template management.
- Experience with SBOM generation tools.
