Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AS/400 Synon Developer Lead with expertise in IBM iSeries (AS/400) application development, maintenance, modernization, and support. The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in Synon (CA 2E), CL/400, DB2/400, SQL/400, and end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) execution.

The candidate will be responsible for leading development teams, engaging with business stakeholders, analyzing requirements, designing technical solutions, developing and testing applications, coordinating deployments, and providing production support for large-scale enterprise systems across logistics, retail, banking, insurance, and healthcare domains.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

- Lead AS/400 application development and enhancement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
- Drive application modernization and migration initiatives.

Analysis &
- Design

- Analyze business and functional requirements.
- Prepare technical design documents and solution specifications.
- Evaluate existing application functionalities and propose improvements.
- Participate in estimation, planning, and project reviews.

Development &
- Implementation

- Develop and maintain applications using Synon (CA 2E) and CL/400.
- Create and modify screen designs, business functions, and batch processes.
- Design and execute database queries using DB2/400 and SQL/400.
- Implement system integrations with external and third-party applications.

Testing &
- Support

- Perform unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing support.
- Create and execute test plans and test scripts.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Support deployment,



release management, and post-production validation.

Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate directly with clients and business users.
- Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate with QA, integration, infrastructure, and support teams.

Team Management
- Mentor junior developers and provide knowledge transfer sessions.
- Manage task allocations and monitor project progress.
- Support onboarding and training of team members.
