Role OverviewWe are seeking a Technical Auditor (O&M;) with an Electrical Engineer/ Mechanical Engineer background to join our audit and consulting team. The role involves conducting Operation & Maintenance (O&M;) technical audits of power generation, transmission, and distribution assets, assessing plant performance, maintenance practices, and compliance with applicable technical standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities• Conduct O&M; technical audits of electrical systems in power plants, substations, and transmission/distribution networks

- Review preventive and predictive maintenance practices, condition monitoring records, and plant performance data
- Assess compliance with CEA Guidelines, Indian Electricity Rules,



the Electricity Act, and applicable CERC/SERC regulations
- Identify equipment reliability issues, control weaknesses, and root causes of recurring failures or downtime
- Review documentation including single-line diagrams, protection coordination studies, maintenance logs, and shutdown records
- Prepare audit observations distinguishing facts, assumptions, and recommendations, supported by objective evidence
- Draft technical audit reports including risk ratings, impact analysis, and prioritized recommendations
- Liaise with client plant/engineering teams to gather evidence and clarify observations
- Support project management audits and asset management reviews as required
- Travel to client sites (power plants, substations) for on-site audit assignments

Required Qualifications• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineer/ Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent) from a recognized institution

- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the power sector — generation, transmission, distribution, or O&M; functions
- Working knowledge of electrical systems: switchgear, transformers, protection systems, SCADA, and control systems




- Familiarity with preventive/predictive maintenance practices and reliability engineering concepts
- Understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks (CEA Guidelines, Electricity Act, CERC/SERC Regulations) is an advantage
- Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); working knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis preferred

Preferred Attributes• Prior exposure to audit, inspection, or quality assurance functions in a power utility or EPC environment

- Experience with thermal, hydro, solar, or wind power plant systems
- ISO 55001 (Asset Management) or ISO 9001 awareness is a plus
- Willingness to travel for in office client audits
- Strong written communication skills for technical report writing
