Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Operate conventional surface grinding machines to grind and finish metal components to precise dimensions.

- Perform machine setup, wheel mounting, and alignment before grinding operations.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

- Ensure accurate surface finish, flatness, and dimensional tolerance of machined parts.

- Conduct in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and height gauges.

- Monitor grinding operations to maintain quality and consistency of finished parts.

- Perform dressing of grinding wheels and maintain proper grinding parameters.

- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of grinding machines and work area.

- Follow safety procedures and quality standards during operations.





- Coordinate with production and quality teams to meet daily production targets.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Hands-on experience in conventional surface grinding operations.

- Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances.

- Knowledge of grinding wheels, dressing techniques, and surface finishing.

- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control.

- Ability to work in a manufacturing or tool room setting.

Educational Qualification

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Machinist / Turner or equivalent technical qualification.
