Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Solar Energy For ITI Student Training Train-the-Trainer (ToT) Program

Role Purpose:

To deliver industry-oriented Solar Energy training to ITI students and conduct Train-the-Trainer (ToT) programs for ITI instructors/faculty, with a robust focus on practical skills, installation, maintenance, safety and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct classroom and practical training on Solar PV systems for ITI students.
- Design and deliver Train-the-Trainer (ToT) programs for ITI faculty/instructors.
- Develop training modules, presentations, practical exercises, assessments and lab activities.
- Train students on Solar PV system components, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
- Provide hands-on training on solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers and mounting structures .
- Train participants on solar system sizing, basic electrical calculations and energy generation.
- Demonstrate installation, wiring, testing, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Train faculty on practical teaching methodologies and effective use of solar lab equipment.
- Support ITI colleges in establishing and utilizing Solar PV training labs.
- Conduct practical assessments and evaluate student/faculty competency.
- Ensure training content is aligned with current solar industry practices and relevant skill standards.




- Provide technical guidance and support during implementation of solar training programs.

Technical Expertise Required

- Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technology
- Grid-connected, Off-grid Hybrid Solar Systems
- Solar Panel Installation Mounting
- Solar Inverters Charge Controllers
- Battery Energy Storage Systems
- Solar PV System Design Sizing
- Electrical Wiring, Earthing Protection
- Solar Plant Installation Commissioning
- Testing, Troubleshooting Preventive Maintenance
- Solar Safety Practices
- Basic Electrical Electronics

Qualification Experience

- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, Solar Energy or related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Solar PV, Renewable Energy, Electrical or Technical Training.
- Experience in ITI, Polytechnic, Skill Development or vocational training preferred.
- Prior experience in Train-the-Trainer (ToT) programs preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of solar installation and troubleshooting.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to different ITI colleges for training assignments.
