STARLIMS Technical Lead / Developer

Our client is seeking 2 experienced STARLIMS Technical Lead / Developer to join a high-performing team supporting critical laboratory informatics systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a STARLIMS specialist to lead development activities, collaborate closely with business stakeholders, and drive enhancements across laboratory-focused applications.

This role is ideally suited to someone with deep STARLIMS expertise, strong .NET development experience, and a background working within laboratory, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments.

Position Overview

Employment Type : Contract

Hours: Full-time

Length: 6 months with a view to extend

Working Model: In office (preferred) Hybrid (considered) - Trivandrum or Chennai

Start Date : ASAP

Key Responsibilities

- Lead STARLIMS development, configuration, enhancement, and support activities.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy STARLIMS solutions in line with business requirements.
- Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and system failures.
- Drive best practices across application design, development standards, and deployment processes.




- Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership across projects.
- Recommend and implement performance improvements and system optimisations.
- Collaborate within Agile delivery teams using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Required Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in .NET and Oracle/SQL database application development within multi-tier architectures.
- Extensive hands-on experience with the STARLIMS platform in laboratory environments.
- Proven experience across STARLIMS development, workflow configuration, testing, deployment, and requirements analysis.
- Strong experience with:
- .NET Framework, .NET Core
- WCF and RESTful Web Services
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- SQL Server and/or Oracle PL/SQL
- Experience with source control tools such as Git, TFS, Bitbucket, or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business and technical teams.

Desirable Experience

- Experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools.
- Exposure to Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and laboratory informatics platforms.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, or laboratory environments.
