Role Description The Sr. HVAC Design Engineer is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai, responsible for leading HVAC system design for a variety of building projects. This role includes performing load calculations, equipment sizing, and duct and piping layout, as well as integrating HVAC designs with plumbing, electrical, and other MEP disciplines.

The engineer will prepare detailed design documents, drawings, and specifications, coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day activities involve reviewing project inputs,



conducting technical analyses, supporting BIM modeling efforts, and contributing to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, supporting quality reviews, and participating in project meetings to drive timely and accurate delivery.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in HVAC Design and HVAC system engineering for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
- Experience performing detailed Calculations for cooling/heating loads, equipment sizing, and system performance.
- Knowledge of Plumbing design principles and integration with overall MEP systems.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, local building codes) and best practices in HVAC and MEP design.
- Ability to work with CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for design documentation and coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and drafting skills, with attention to accuracy and constructability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; prior experience in a senior HVAC design role is highly beneficial.
