Job Purpose:
Key Responsibilities:
Work on 3D modeling, surfacing, assembly, and drafting using CATIA V5.
Design and develop automotive plastic components such as air vents, trims, dashboards, bumpers, glove boxes, and storage parts.
Prepare 2D drawings with GD&T; and maintain engineering documentation.
Perform tooling direction, draft analysis, and mounting feature creation.
Support design reviews, feasibility checks, and benchmarking activities.
Coordinate with tooling, quality, and production teams during development activities.
Work on engineering changes and BOM documentation.
Support prototype/mock-up preparation and validation activities.
Ensure compliance with customer standards and automotive quality requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement and VA/VE activities.
Maintain effective coordination with cross-functional teams.





Qualification & Skills:
Educational Qualification:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Polymer Engineering.

Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience in automotive plastic product design and development.
Experience in automotive interior and exterior plastic components preferred.

Technical Skills:
Solid knowledge of CATIA V5 (Part Modeling, Surfacing, Assembly & Drafting).
Knowledge of automotive plastic product design guidelines.
Experience in tooling direction, draft analysis, ribs, snaps, dog houses, and mounting features.
Positive understanding of 2D drawing and GD&T.;
Knowledge of plastic manufacturing and tooling processes.
Understanding of BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
Basic understanding of automotive development lifecycle and engineering changes.
Familiarity with DVP, validation, and functional testing processes will be an added advantage.
