Senior Software Engineer – AI Training & Evaluation

Location: Remote

Compensation: $50–$100/hour

Start: Immediate / 24–48 hours after onboarding

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers to contribute their engineering expertise to the development and evaluation of next-generation AI systems.

The role involves creating realistic Reinforcement Learning environments that test an AI model’s ability to solve complex software engineering problems, including bug fixing, feature development, code refactoring, and performance optimization.

Prior AI experience is not required.

Role Responsibilities

- Create realistic software engineering tasks and reproducible RL environments for AI evaluation.
- Develop expert-level solutions using Python, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Debug complex software defects and performance bottlenecks.
- Implement new features while ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Refactor and optimize existing or legacy codebases.
- Create golden/reference solutions for engineering problems.
- Document technical reasoning, implementation approaches, and engineering decisions.
- Review and validate code and technical submissions for accuracy and quality.

Key Requirements





Strong hands-on programming experience in at least one of:

1. Python
2. Java
3. Rust
4. Go
5. C++
6. TypeScript

- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with bug fixing, feature implementation, and codebase refactoring.
- Strong understanding of performance optimization and scalable software development.
- Experience working with complex or large production codebases.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with large-scale or distributed software systems.
- Legacy code modernization and large codebase refactoring.
- Solid code-review experience.
- Experience delivering production features end-to-end.
- Interest in AI/LLMs, AI coding agents, reinforcement learning, or AI evaluation is beneficial but not mandatory.

Compensation

- Compensation is output/task-based.
- Payment is made for tasks that meet project specifications.
- Minimum weekly submission requirements may apply.
